REPRESENTATIVES FROM MONGOLIA PARTICIPATED IN THE 69TH SESSION OF THE IAEA GENERAL CONFERENCE
The Mongolian delegation, led by the Permanent Representative H.E Mr. Tsengeg Mijiddorj, participated in the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.
The Permanent Representative delivered a statement at the General Debate of the Conference on September 17, 2025, outlining Mongolia's position in the field of nuclear energy. In the statement, he emphasized that the IAEA's role in using nuclear energy for peace, health, and development is becoming increasingly important as the world faces social, economic, environmental, and international security challenges.
In 2024, Mongolia acceded to the Convention on Nuclear Safety, and ratified the 2005 Amendment to the Convention on Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, and the Revised Small Quantities Protocol.
Additionally, the Permanent Representative participated in the side event commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the 2005 Amendment to the Convention on Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, organized on 17 September 2025, and delivered a speech on the relevance and importance of these two mechanisms.
