Foreign nationals who wish to enter or stay in Mongolia must obtain visas of appropriate classification corresponding to the purpose of their visit. Nationals of those countries which have visa exemption agreements with Mongolia are exempted from visa requirements to the extent allowed by such agreements on reciprocal basis. GENERAL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:
1. Completed application form
- Temporary visitor for up to 90 days
- Arrival for the purpose of residence for more than 91 days
- Family member/related party

2. Passport, which at least 6 months beyond the stay is valid and must contain at least two blank pages
3. 1 photo 3.5cm x 4.5cm (ICAO)
4. Confirmation of payment (Visa fees only by bank transfer) - Before paying the visa fee, please make sure that you have all the required and supporting documents.
5. Visa permission by the Immigration Agency of Mongolia (more information from immigration.gov.mn)
Note: Applications can not be submitted by mail.
TOURIST VISA
 

Electronic Visa Application System

In early 2022, the Government of Mongolia launched the Electronic Visa Application System. https://evisa.mn/en 

E-visa applicants are no longer required to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents to the nearest Diplomatic Missions of Mongolia in person and to receive e-visa by his/her email within 72 hours. However, applicants are advised to hold digital or printed version of his/her e-visa to present to airlines and Mongolian border officials when travelling to Mongolia.
Foreign nationals not in above listed countries are required to submit their visa application at the nearest Embassy of Mongolia.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
To obtain a TOURIST visa at the Embassy the required documents should be submitted to the Consular section (Consulate)
1. Completed application form
- Temporary visitor for up to 90 days
- Arrival for the purpose of residence for more than 91 days
- Family member/related party

2. Passport, which at least 6 months beyond the stay is valid and must contain at least two blank pages
3. 1 photo 3.5cm x 4.5cm (ICAO)
4. Accommondation (Confirmation of hotel booking/travel booking or Invitation letter from travel agency or travel route)
5. Confirmation of payment (Visa fees only by bank transfer) - Before paying the visa fee, please make sure that you have all the required and supporting documents.

Processing time is usually 5 business days, though during the tourist season it may take up to 7 days.

Passports with visas must be picked up in person from the Embassy.

Validity A Mongolian tourist visa is normally valid for 5 months from the date of issue, with a permitted stay of up to 30 days. Please note that visa validity begins on the date of issue, not the date of travel — so even though the visa itself is valid for 5 months, this does not mean you may stay in Mongolia for 5 months.

Opening hours of the consular section are: Monday-Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 am, 14:00-17:00 pm.

TRANSIT
 
For the issuance of transit visas are the same documents as for the entry and exit are required.
Moreover, it is determined that the visa of destination country (China or Russia), which, following the visit Mongolia is already issued.
A transit visa entitles only a transit for up to 5 days.
 
Entry-Exit visa for more than 30 days and longer time
 
Generally, a visa for more than 30 days (double or multi entry-exit) will be issued but only with a permission from Mongolian authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Immigration Agency of Mongolia).
