DELEGATION OF THE CROATIA-MONGOLIA FRIENDSHIP GROUP IN THE CROATIAN PARLIAMENT VISITS MONGOLIA
A delegation led by Mr. Predrag Štromar, Head of the Croatia-Mongolia Friendship Group in the Croatian Parliament, is paying a visit to Mongolia from 9 to 12 June, 2025.
As part of the visit, on 10 June, the Croatian Parliamentary delegation held separate meetings with Mr. Aldarjavkhlan Jukov, Member of the State Great Khural and Head of the Mongolia-Croatia Friendship Group, and Mrs. Bulgantuya Khurelbaatar, Deputy Chairman of the State Great Khural.
Head of the Mongolia-Croatia Parliamentary Group, Mr. J. Aldarjavkhlan, noted that over the past 32 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, effective cooperation has developed in various sectors. He emphasized that this visit presents an opportunity to enrich bilateral relations with new substance. The sides exchanged views on expanding inter-parliamentary relations, revitalizing the activities of the parliamentary groups, and deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, economy, culture, defense, and youth exchanges.
Deputy Chairwoman, Mrs. Kh. Bulgantuya, highlighted that following the 2024 parliamentary elections in Mongolia, a 126-member parliament was formed, with the number of female members reaching 32, accounting for 25 percent of the total composition, which makes Mongolia one of the leading countries in Asia in terms of women's representation. She also emphasized that despite the geographical distance, Mongolia and Croatia have maintained cooperation based on shared values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Mr. P. Štromar, Head of the Croatian Parliamentary Group, commended Mongolia’s democracy and conveyed Croatia’s interest in cooperating in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and digital technology. Moreover, he expressed support for implementing scholarship programs for student and researcher exchanges.
The two sides discussed in detail the possibilities of further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as exchanging experiences and implementing joint projects through their respective parliamentary groups.
